From the legendary Ashanti Kingdom of gold to the vibrant streets of Accra, Ghana’s capital, you will see unspoiled virgin beaches, historical sites steeped in sad, inhumane histories, bustling markets overflowing with exquisite arts and crafts. You will experience cultural drumming and dancing that will touch your very soul in its intensity. Ghana’s history stretches almost 2000 years, to the riches of the ancient Ghana Empire. Abundant trade in gold, ivory, salt, and kola nuts existed between Ghana and other African states and this eventually led Europeans to the shores of Africa and to the country known as the Gold Coast. Come, relax, and enjoy Ghana’s culture, beauty, and warmth. Welcome greetings and dinner followed by brief orientation by tour operator Accra city tour of Cape Coast and Elmina Castles and Slave Dungeons Experience walking on a canopy bridge hanging 100 feet above the forest floor in West Africa's most noted tropical rainforest and audience with an Ashanti traditional chief and the chance to visit the various craft villages.

Day 1 – November 9, 2024 - Arrival at Kotoka International Airport, Welcome Home Celebration

      Our tour guide and travel team will pick you up at Kotoka International Airport and check you into the hotel. Tailors and hair braiders will be available at your hotel to measure and you for traditional African wear or to get your lovely African braids.


The Welcome Home Dinner at Zen Garden is where you will get your first taste of Ghanian culture with authentic local dishes and live music and dance. Join in the celebration and rejoice in your homecoming to Africa.

Day 2 – November 10, 2024 – Accra City Tour, Drumming and Dancing and Cultural Shopping Tour

Leap into African culture and fun in Accra. Visit the W.E.B du Bois Museum, Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park, Jamestown (Oldest part of Accra). After lunch, Let’s experience the huge marketplace at Accra Art Center – an African shopping lover’s paradise. You can purchase African clothing, art, waist beads, sandals, leather goods and more. The shopping tour includes local drumming lessons and African music. Bring your bargaining skills to make the best deals.

Day 3 – November 11, 2024 – Aburi Botanical Gardens and Waterfalls

Aburi is a welcoming retreat from the hustle of Accra. The drive to the mountains allows you the perfect view of the city with a magnificent ecological experience in the gardens. Due to the altitude of the gardens, the temperature is cooler and filled with enormous trees and beautiful flora. The waterfalls will thrill your soul and calm your spirit.

Day 4 - November 12, 2024  - Tour Kumasi, Central Ghana, African Naming Ceremony

Early morning flight to Kumasi. Kumasi is a city of history and culture, where you will explore the legacy of the Ashanti kingdom, one of the most powerful empires in Africa. You will visit the National Cultural Centre, where you will learn about the Ashanti traditions, see craft workshops, and admire the royal regalia. You can also witness the colorful ceremonies of the Asantehene, the king of the Ashanti, at the Manhyia Palace. Kumasi is surrounded by lush forests and hills, where you will enjoy nature and wildlife. You will experience your rebirth with your African Name in an official naming ceremony. Celebrate your new identity at Ike’s Cultural Village with palm wine.

Day 5 –November 13, 2024 – Kumasi Tour Continued - Bonwair Village, Traditional African Cooking Lesson

Visit the Kente Bonwair Village and try your hand at weaving kente. Kente is Ghana’s national cloth is one indigenous handicraft that has won worldwide recognition. You will learn the many types of Kente each with its own symbolism and name, which tells the history, culture and social practice of the weavers of the cloth.

Lunch time cooking lesson. Learn how to make a traditional Ghanian meal. Shop at the local market for your ingredients and put them all together for a delicious Ghanaian meal. Eat like a Ghanaian.


After lunch, fly back to Accra.

Day 6 – November 14, 2024 - Leisure and Relaxation

Experience the natural charm and beauty of this beachfront resort and enjoy the various ocean front amenities including private pool. Take an early morning walk on the beach and stretch with yoga and a beach massage. Night bonfire on the beach.

Day 7 - November 15, 2024 – Leisure and Relaxation

Continue self-care and relaxation on the African shores.

Day 8 - November 16, 2024 – Cape Coast - Ancestral Tour

Today we have an early departure to Cape Coast Ghana. Please dress in all white attire to honor our ancestors. We will visit Cape Coast slave dungeons and the Door of No Return. During our guided tour, we will trace the steps of our ancestors and pay homage to them. We will learn in detail the carnage of the Cape Coast dungeons Then trace the steps of our ancestors at the Assin Manso Slave River. This is where they had their bath before being sold to the slave masters.


If you would like to bring the ashes of a love one or the soil from their grave, this is a time to spread those elements and acknowledge the return of their spirit to Africsa.


Afterwards we will relax and reflect at the beautiful oceanfront Lemon Beach Resort.

Day 9, November 17, 2024 – Kakum Rainforest National Paark

In the morning we continue our journey in the Central Region to Kakum National Park. It is one of the most popular attractions in Ghana with breathtaking sights and sounds across a vast rainforest space. Known for its striking setting and fascinating wildlife, it offers all manner of things to see and do. For nature lovers, there are many rare and endangered species at Kakum National Park, including forest elephants, leopards, bonobos, large forest antelopes, monkeys, buffaloes, duikers, and red river hogs, among others – not to mention some 500 species of butterflies adding a touch of color to the afternoon adventure tour of Kakum Rainforest Park.

Day 10  November 18, 2024, Accra Last minute shopping, Farewell Lunch

We are headed back to Accra for our final day in The Motherland. You have the opportunity for last minute shopping and we celebrate Mother Africa at a late Farewell Lunch. Transportation to the airport will be provided.
